The manufacturers of the printers are discouraging this, claiming that you need to have a new cartridge to obtain the results you are looking for. This is true only in part, as there can be some problems caused by air being locked into the cartridge when it is sealed. Most of the time ink used in refills will produce a high quality result, as long as it is a quality ink in the first place.

Refilling cartridges with ink for printers is something which environmentalists are actively encouraging, as it allows the plastic in the cartridge to be effectively recycled with no further plastic being needed. The amount of plastic which is produced, used just once for a brief period of time, and then sent to the landfill site is extraordinary, and even government agencies are now trying to encourage the recycling of printer cartridges. Some charities even ask you to donate any you are no longer using, so think about that if you decide to buy new cartridges.

The key to making your printing operation work as smoothly as possible is to find the right suppliers for your cartridges or ink for printers. This will be easy if you choose to buy further cartridges from printer manufacturers or their agents, as there will only be a limited number of outlets. Pricing will be uniform and standard, and you will know what you will need to pay in advance.
